Vanilla Whole Cake Recipe
To make a vanilla whole cake, follow our directions:
Ingredients
- Sugar, granulated
- Unsalted butter, 1 cup
- Vanilla extract, 2 tablespoons
- 4 eggs
- All-purpose flour, 2 3/4 cups
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 kosher salt
- Whole buttermilk in a cup
For frosting
- 2 cups softened unsalted butter
- 4 cups of sugar, granulated
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2/4 cup heavy cream
- Vanilla extract
- Sprinkles
Directions
Step #1
Set the oven to 350°F. An 8-inch circular cake pan should be greased and floured.
Step #2
When thickened and light gold in color, mix the eggs, sugar, vanilla, and almond extract for 2 minutes at medium-high speed or for 5 minutes by hand.
Step #3
For uniformity, add the measured flour a bit at a time.
Step #4
In a saucepan, combine the hot milk, butter, and oil. Use a mixer to whisk the mixture at low speed until it is thoroughly blended.
Step #5
Before adding milk, divide the mixture into two separate baking tins.
Step #6
The milk should be added to the butter mixture before baking for 25 to 30 minutes. After 15 minutes of cooling in the pan, flip the cake and allow it to cool fully for approximately an hour.
Step #7
To make the frost, beat butter in a stand mixer with the paddle attachment on medium speed for about 5 minutes, or until it is light and fluffy. Add powdered sugar gradually while beating for about two minutes until smooth. Salt and vanilla are beaten in. Add cream gradually while beating for about 30 seconds, or until bubbly and spreadable.
Step #8
Frost the cake, both on top and between the layers. If you want smooth sides, use a bench scraper. Candy sprinkles should be added to the cake’s foundation and top border.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the composition of a cake’s ingredients?
However, as cakes are baked at a ratio of 1:1:1:1, (one part eggs to one part sugar to one part butter to one part flour)
2. What are the basic ingredients of cake?
For making a cake, the following components are necessary: flour, eggs, fat (often butter), sugar, salt, a liquid (typically milk), and leavening agents (such as baking soda).
3. What component gives the cake its softness?
The all-purpose cake flour significantly influences the softness of the cake. Less gluten is created because cake flour has less protein. The cake becomes less thick, light, and smooth without all that gluten.
